They come in multiple colors, with each color representing a rank within a specific discipline. Students are awarded new belts as they progress in their study of Karate, Taekwondo, Jiu-Jitsu, Kung Fu, Judo, and more. The standard belt color system is white, yellow, orange, green, blue, purple, brown, red, and black, though the sequence may differ between disciplines.
